A Trio of Railroad Projects

The Troop Kitchen Car continues its progress to is full restoration and future habitation of the Sanilac County Historic Village and Museum's collection of military items. I have been deep into fabrication of trim, door hardware, repairs, and maintenance. I am not alone. Other volunteers and skilled tradesmen have assisted us getting the car ready for the 16th of July, soft opening of the car to the public.

The Daniel B. Harrington is about 95 percent done now. Paining, some hardware installation, and few other things and we will make this a complete project. There has been a group of great people involved in making this happen at the Wrigley Hall in downtown Port Huron, MI.

Pere Marquette Boxcar 80302 the Carsonville Depot project continues to make slow progress. We will need to further raise the car and have a truck driver to haul it off. The roof needs to come off and the car will need to be structurally stabilized before moving. This is a rare example of railroad's repurposing equipment into a depot instead of scrapping it.
