The Porch and Balcony of the Loop-Harrison Mansion at Sanilac County Historical Society

Following a very productive year working, and sometimes volunteering my time, at the Sanilac County Historical Society / Sanilac County Historic Village and Museum, I have gotten to know many of the staff and volunteers well. I have also brought my talents to their mix of a fine talent pool and assisted them with maintenance, construction, problem solving, project management and event preparation. There has also been a lot of building restoration work, grounds maintenance, and of course work on Troop Kitchen Car K-102, in the past year.

We have a great team of people here that all pull together to get many things done. Sometimes we need assistance and one of the things we have identified is repairs to the porch and balcony of the Loop-Harrison Mansion. This porch, and a smaller porch have some water damage to gutters, facia, and soffit areas; they need some work & restoration beyond what we can do with our team. We are looking for talented builders to come take a look at our porch and put bids in on getting the job done.

We are also putting together these bids in total for fund raising for matching grant money that would assist in the restoration / repair to the balcony and porches of the Loop-Harrison Mansion in Port Sanilac, MI. We are in the developmental stage right now and are seeking both donors to the project and those with the skilled tradesmen and women to help fix some of the water damage before it gets worse.

To respond with interest in sizing up our issue and quoting us a bid on work to be done click CONTACT SCHS and it will send you to the contact page. Please put in there message "Porch / Balcony Quote" so we know what it is regarding.

The photos below show the mansion and porch with some of the issues we need to address. If you would like to donate to the museum for this project, click DONATE and it will send you to the SCHS's page. You can always become a MEMBER too and support this operation. We are donor / member funded.

So if you are up to the task of these repairs, or want to donate to assist us, please contact the Sanilac County Historical Society and we will get things rolling.
